If you know how challenging it is to get your family out the door, and off to school or day care, and get to wherever you need to go on time (work, appointments), then you might have your own ideas about what car best suits the Mum on the Run.
Having a family is possibly one of the most challenging things we might sign up for in the 21st century! We know that 10 minutes to 8.00 is not the best time for the elder son to ask for a prop in school play, or younger daughter to remember she needs a baby photo for the year book, or for the dog to escape out the back fence because your handy life partner STILL hasn’t fixed it, requiring a full scale search, chewing up half an hour of precious ‘getting ready time’ (or in my case, I just leave him. He’ll either come back or get run over. I don’t have time to chase him).
Wondering all the while why can’t younger daughter keep her shoes in her room so you don’t have to search the far reaches of the packed-to-the-rafters-sleep-out (or garage or play room) to find them – or maybe the dog has hidden them, in which case, he had better not come back… And warning older son not to ride his scooter down the driveway because you don’t have time to go to the hospital today.
Arriving at work (or at the appointment) on time, in a relatively clean and tidy state, is a minor miracle. Anything anyone throws at you from then on is easy by comparison. In fact, it is relatively peaceful being at work. The thought of the disaster that awaits you when you get home is shoved firmly to the back of the mind.
Ferrying children around during school years requires a vehicle of wide-ranging capability:
• You may need to throw sports equipment in the back.
• You may need to accommodate BFF, and BFF’s BFF.
• You may need to feed yourself the mini-people on the run, as you pick up and deposit children at numerous locations in finely tuned order (heaven help you if there is a traffic jam en route).
• You may need to have various pets restrained in various positions for short and long journeys.
• You would still like a vehicle that has some sense of style, for those rare moments when you go for a coffee or even (when the budget permits) out for dinner with the vaguely familiar fellow who once swept you off your feet…
Call our experienced used car sales consultants for a range of options we have for you to consider on (07) 3883-0914 (Redcliffe) or (07) 3285-0632 (Petrie).
Alternatively, you could hire a nanny and ask them to come complete with a suitable vehicle!
