Lucky Patron

Colleen Andrews, a patron at the Full Moon Hotel, got to take possession of a brand new Nissan Tiida from Village Motors on Christmas Eve when she drew the lucky key that opened the car.

The Full Moon Hotel ran a promotion in conjunction with Village Motors for patrons throughout November and December, and had drawn 30 names out of the hat during that time. On Christmas Eve, they drew 10 finalists who were each given a key that might open the car.

Colleen’s was the lucky one, but her success didn’t really hit home until she tried to ring her husband to tell him, and he didn’t believe her.

“He thought it was a joke,” she said, laughing and crying at the same time.

“We have a restored 1964 Cadillac, which of course we will keep, but now we have a car we can actually afford to drive anywhere, so that’s fantastic.”

Colleen visited the hotel with her best friend, who lives just around the corner from the hotel, and tried her luck on the pokies to see if she could get an entry into the draw. One entry was enough!

Village Motors managing director Marlene Newcombe said it was a very fitting time of the year to run such a competition.

“It’s a fantastic feeling to be a part of the promotion, and see someone’s life change because of something Village Motors has supported,” Ms Newcombe said.

The other 29 people in the draw did not miss out – they were given Gold and Premium car washes at Peninsula Auto Zone as compensation prizes.
